Reverse Engineering the Google Search Algorithm with Data Science

A data science project using explanatory and predictive models to identify factors associated with stronger organic search visibility.

Apr 2021 – Jun 2021

In this project, my team and I sought to ‘crack’ Google’s search algorithm for De Nieuwe Zaak. Our goal was to determine what actions a website builder can take to improve their site’s ranking in Google’s organic search results.

Using Python within Jupyter Notebooks, along with BeautifulSoup, SEMrush, and other analytical tools, we collected extensive data. We then analysed this data using both explanatory and predictive models to identify key factors that enhance a webpage’s visibility on Google.
